About the role
We're looking for a product-minded engineer to help build Helium. You'll work across the stack in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, and you'll ship features powered by LLMs — not as a gimmick, but as a core part of the product.
You'll own things end-to-end: from a rough idea to something customers use in production. We're a small team, so your judgment compounds.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Are fluent in TypeScript and have shipped real apps with React / Next.js
- Have built with LLMs — prompting, streaming, evals, tool-use, or RAG
- Care about latency, DX, and the details users feel
- Think in terms of products and outcomes, not just tickets
Nice to have:
- Experience with Postgres / Supabase, edge runtimes, or background jobs
- A side project you can point to and say "I built this"
Tech you'll touch: TypeScript, React, Next.js (App Router), Postgres/Supabase, the Anthropic & OpenAI APIs, Vercel.
The hiring process
- Apply & present your case — share your details and answer a few questions written just for you.
- Build assignment — pick one of three mini-tools and build it. Take a few days; we care about taste and judgment, not polish.
- Final conversation — walk us through what you built and meet the team.
